Benefits of Lassi ::
Ayurvedic beverage

Lassi is one of the beverages in Ayurveda made of yogurt that helps to cool the body. It is simply fresh yogurt blended with room temperature water. When mixed with water, the yogurt gets thinned and helps in easy digestion and assimilation. Lassi is easy and economical to prepare.

Lassi is usually prepared in two flavors - sweet lassi and digestive lassi. Sweet lassi is prepared by blending one part of yogurt with three parts of water, along with pinch of cardamom and bit of sweetener and rosewater. Saffron is optional. Digestive lassi is a bit spicy and is prepared by blending one part of yogurt with three parts of water, along with pinch of cumin and salt. Fruits like mango can be added to sweet lassi to enhance the flavor and benefits of lassi. Ayurvedic herbal lassi can also be prepared with adding herbs and spices like ginger or black pepper.
