Though, head lice are not known to create any potential harm to human beings, the itching irritation caused by the head lice is intolerable. To control the head lice, the conventional shampoos or lotions are nothing but pesticides/insecticides in minor doses. Today the whole world loudly propagating against even the indirect usage of pesticides but in the name of shampoo or lotions, we are directly applying it on our scalp or our loved one’s.  Most of the pesticides are carcinogenic in nature; hence, we resolve the minor, external, harmless challenge just to invite the major, internal, harmful, irreversible conditions from chronic allergies to cancer. It does not mean that we need to live forever with the minor challenges. The real solution should not be a converter of one minor problem into another major problem. The real solution for most of the challenges is very closer to us but we fail to explore it and it applies to Head Lice too. The resources to resolve head lice are at or around your residence.

Required ingredients:

1)    Big Onion – 2 Nos.

2)    Lemon – 2 Nos.

3)    Tulsi leaves – One handful

4)    Neem leaves – Half handful.

5)    Vinegar

Method:

a)     Crush the onions, tulsi and neem leaves separately and extract the juice from all the three using a clean filter cloth.

b)    Mix well all the juices alongwith the lemon juice.

c)     Apply the mixture on head spreading it completely on the scalp.

d)    Cover the head with a shower cap for one hour.

e)     After one hour wash with vinegar and take bath with good natural Ayurvedic shampoo.

f)      Repeat the process weekly twice for one month to get complete relief.

g)     If any other family members have head lice, it is mandatory to adopt this process by everyone in the same period of time to avoid spreading.

h)    Use separate towels, comb, cap, pillows.
